A Chance to Make Money

We love to share success. You can use your new skills to launch your own yard art store and fund your membership!

Hi! We're Mary and Ashley, the mother-daughter painting team!

Mary: I started painting yard art in the late 1980s when my two children were just babies. It was fun and fulfilling making my own designs and having something that Bruce, my husband, and I did together. While I did the painting, Bruce would cut out the shapes using a jig saw. In the early 1990s, we started selling our pieces at a store owned by Louise and Roger May in Pearland, Texas.

Ashley: I started painting as a teenager wanting to earn money. Since then, my mom and I have worked together to create countless designs for our customers. We work closely to have a variety of items for each season.

Creating our designs requires hard work and diligence. The reward comes from our customers who buy and complement our work. As you can imagine, things don’t always run smoothly. We are just like many families, with our disagreements and challenges. But together, we make one heck of a family business. Our customers always remain our first priority, and working as a team is a close second.

Love the yard art and watching y’all paint learning to shade and add highlights
I taught my first little painting class today. My daughter and her sister in law begged me to “teach” them. I think they did a great job!
You are never too old to learn new techniques... no matter how long you’ve been painting. Ashley showed us an easy way to do the buffalo plaids with a baby wipe, instead of a brush. I’d been dry brushing, but her method was so much faster and a breeze.
